New Year, New Motto!
Brandon High School has a new motto called “Own It.” This motto aims to provide students with a focus point of motivation to strive for goals in high school. In an interview with Dr. Bryan Marshall, he told a story about Milton Hershey, the Hershey Bar and Brand inventor. Hershey was a man of many failures, lived most of his life in poverty, and even filed for bankruptcy a couple of times. Later, he became known as the inventor of the greatest chocolate bar of all time. The motto “Own It” is all about owning your brand through trial and success. Brandon High School owns BOE for 2023-2024. Dr. Marshall remarks on Winston Churchhill’s quote, “Success is not final.” What might have been a successful year for the bulldogs in the 2022/2023 school year starts over this year. It is a continuous fight through hard work and goals. Students must adjust to the new norms of this year while reflecting on the past years. Even if you are failing or have made a mistake, you must own that mistake and make it yours. If you are successful today, it’s not guaranteed you will be successful tomorrow; you must keep improving. The only way to remain successful is to try continuously.
