The first day of high school is a memory I will never forget. I remember feeling so nervous yet so excited about entering my last four years of school, and to see where the next four years would take me. I wondered if I bought the right clothes and shoes and if I would make new friends in such a new environment. Yet, here I am, entering my first day of senior year, something I have been looking forward to my entire life, with the best group of friends I could ever ask for. The night before, my friends and I went to Shiloh Park to decorate our cars for the next morning’s senior parade. We shared laughs while trying to figure out who drew the best paw print on our cars. The last of daylight faded, and we went our separate ways. We were so excited to see where the following day would take us. I woke up to the sound of my alarm, and surprisingly, I jumped out of bed like a kid waking up on Christmas morning. The night before, I had put out my shoes, clothes, and packed my brand-new Minnie Mouse bookbag. Of course, my family and I had to take pictures of our first day together. I watched my parents put on a brave face as I drove out of the driveway, but later that night, they told me deep down inside they were so scared to see their firstborn entering her journey of senior year. I arrived at the school at 6:40 to meet with my friend so we could get into one car to head to the church together, where the breakfast and parade were located. The sponsors for the senior breakfast did a fantastic job ensuring every senior who came had an opportunity to get a grab-and-go breakfast before heading into the parade. We took pictures, laughed, and cried with each other as we all realized that this was our last first day of high school. After breakfast and the Class of 2025 class picture, we went to our cars, eager to start our day. We left the church with our family and friends cheering us on as we entered a new chapter of life.
