With the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, RCSD has implemented a new policy in which we now have to wear badges. On the third day of school, students received their student ID badge to wear on campus. These badges were implemented as a safety precaution to ensure that only enrolled students at BHS can enter the school. Students must wear their badges at all times, and those forgetting their badge must pay a dollar fee and wear the temporary yellow student ID sticker. Students wanting a different photo on their ID or a replacement badge can pay five dollars to get a new one. Students who bring their badges to school sporting events, excluding football games, may purchase their tickets for only one dollar. The badges also speed up the lunch line process as they can be scanned instead of manually typing in lunch numbers. The badges are certainly an adjustment, but ultimately, they benefit our safety, which is the most important thing.
