On Saturday, May 11th, B1nine and Brilliance hosted a joint concert with the Mississippi State Trebulldawgs. The evening was filled with talented performers, as students, families, and friends enjoyed lemonade, treats, and incredible performances.
Both groups performed their competition sets along with talented soloists. It was very meaningful to share the stage with the Trebulldawgs, who placed 2nd in the ICCA quarterfinals and advanced to the semi-finals. Even more special, one of their members, Artiyuna Timmons, is an alum of B1nine and Brilliance.
Adding to the fun of the ending, we hosted a lighthearted and spontaneous beatboxing contest between Jonah Wade, Case Farnham, and Lauryn Lewis. Judged by the three Trebulldawg vocal percussionists.
One of the most heartfelt moments came when B1nine and Brilliance performed Everglow in honor of our director. It was a full-circle moment, as it was the last song she performed as a member of Spirit of Southern.
Closing the evening, all groups combined to perform Evergreen in memory of Griffin Mangum, a beloved member of Brandon A Cappella and the Class of 2024. The emotional tribute reminded us of the importance and strength of community and the impact of music itself on bringing people together.
The night marked a new tradition and a lasting bond between our groups. Thank you to everyone who came to support us.
