From April 25th to May 1st, 6 of Brandon School’s DECA students including Josie Saujon, Bree Saujon, Rebecca Jenkins, Madelyn Mcllwain, Chassidy Nicole, and Hallie Elkins took on Anaheim, California, for DECA’s annual International Career Development Conference. Along with Mrs. Elkins, their advisor, they visited Disneyland, California Adventure, Hollywood Studios, and Huntington Beach when they were not competing at the Anaheim Convention Center. Josie Saujon and Madelyn Mcllwain, officers of Mississippi’s DECA Action Team, attended caucuses with those running for national officer positions and attended an officer luncheon with the state advisor, Mrs. Pamela Lee. Josie presented the Mississippi flag at the parade of flags. Although Brandon did not get recognized for any national awards, the competing students experienced the trip of a lifetime to California and made memories they will have forever.
