On Friday December 13,2024, Brandon hosted its annual Christmas Parade to start off the holiday season. It brought joy and excitement to many children’s faces. The long awaited parade began with the Police hyping up the parade with an exciting performance as usual. Usually this is when the march starts, consisting of local businesses, trailer contest participants, and schools, but for some reason this year it felt very different. I just didn’t get that warmful holiday spirit that I once felt. The parade was slower than previous years, the floats weren’t as creative, and the crowd wasn’t as thrilling. This year the prices for entering your float has drastically risen. Unfortunately, because of the prices rising and it being so last minute, a lot of the well known and familiar floats did not participate in this year’s Christmas parade. Despite the fact that we did not receive the Christmas welcome we had anticipated, I have no doubt that they will perform better next year!
