The Brandon Boys and Girls Golf teams seasons have come to an end. With that, we would like to recognize their outstanding efforts! Both girls and boys have competed in more than 10 tournaments. These teams are young, with the girls having 13 players, 6 of them never playing golf before. The boys have 16 players with 4 new guys. Head coaches Alison Iles and Kyle Keeton both say that they have seen extreme improvement throughout this season. From the girls, Ava Murray (11th), Makayla Moon (10th) and Ruthie Adams (10th) have each grown tremendously. Additionally, Freshman Elena Grace Siegfried started playing in July and has quickly emerged as a consistently low scorer in each tournament. The girls’ team is led by 6 seniors, especially veteran member Eliza Matthews. She has the most experience on the team, playing in the last two state tournaments. Meanwhile, the Brandon Boys Golf team is led by seniors Ben Eichelberger, Riley De Mars, and Thomas Nichols. Coach Keeton mentioned that throughout the season he had seen a lot of improvement among the underclassmen. A special shoutout to Ben Eichelberger who was named the medalist in several tournaments. On October 28th and 29th, the boys golf team competed in their state tournament in Tunica, MS. The golfers who played in this tournament were Ben Eichelberger, Thomas Nichols, Riley Demars, Hudson McCall, Kruz Willis, and Will Ferguson. These guys played hard and ended up placing 4th overall. The BHS Newspaper would like to congratulate all of our golfers on their hard work and dedication this season. We can not wait to see how they continue to grow and improve!
