One Youth

One Youth

With one night and one goal of spreading the Word of God to open hearts, One Youth gave the opportunity for adolescents to be in the glorified light of God, His presence, and His worthiness. One Youth launched on October 2nd at the Brandon Civic Center, with the entertainment of inflatables, food trucks, music, and games. At 6:30, the doors opened for a fellowship of different churches to worship and hear the word of the One above all. Thankfully, with the help of evangelist Ken Freeman, people could comprehend God’s power and holiness on a personal level. He created a space of inclusivity by sharing his personal journey, ranging from abuse and bullying to savior and sanction. He allowed those to believe wherever you are, with the Holy Spirit of God in your soul, you will be saved. As a large group of students walked to the front of the auditorium after being saved, Ken Freeman said, “that’s not going to make the press, but it should.”

Unfortunately, though, in this climate, it most likely will not be spread far past a group of friends or a small town. Today, Christianity is “unpopular” and looked down upon by most younger generations. There is no hope or faith in the Higher Power; it is just “too far-fetched.” How could someone believe in something they cannot see? However, God assures us to “fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18). With the authority of God, the impossible is possible, the weariness is turned into certainty, he can and will. “He can turn a mess into a message. He can turn a test into a testimony,” explains Freeman, which was his whole reason for sharing his story, to serve as the prime example. To be the catalyst and the visual of God’s work. While people are lost and apart from God, He still loves them and is one with them. “And do not neglect to do good and to share with others. For with such sacrifices God is pleased.” (Hebrews 13:16). Share the news of God, because how could someone keep the greatest news of their life to themself and not share it with those around them? Ultimately, the Lord has one goal and one main purpose. Let all things be through Christ, and let the power of Him consume you as you give your life to God.
