With a new school year comes new resources! Last August, Mrs. Lee introduced BHS to the Peer Tutoring Program, where BHS students mentor their peers to success. These tutors are all AP and A-level students who have previously taken the courses offered. They opened with a bang, but this year the program is even better! They will no longer be in the designated “Peer Tutoring Room”, but in the library itself. As of the 2024-2025 school year, 51 student tutors will provide free guidance for each grade level. They tutor for all core classes, related classes, and some academy courses. They help with math, English, science, history, foreign languages, and possibly other courses upon request. This year the center will open on September 1 and will be available for all blocks except 6B, zero block Tuesday and Thursday, and after school Monday through Thursday. Walk-ins are welcome, but there is also a website for scheduled tutoring. To access this website, go to the BHS webpage, click on Resources, click on Peer Tutoring Center, then select what you need under the Peer Tutoring Center page. Mrs.Lee is so excited to start this year’s peer torturing center and hopefully further our students’ education.
