BHS Showchoirs Dominate Tift County Invitational in Tifton Georgia

This March, Brandon High School’s nationally recognized award-winning show choirs, Brio and Bellas traveled to Tifton, Georgia, to compete at the Tift County Peach State Invitational to cap off their 2024 competitive season. At Tift, Both groups competed against some very stiff competition including two nationally acclaimed groups Oak Mountain Singers and Oak Mountain The Muses. Brio and Bellas both gave a riveting performance in the one-and-done competition without finals and waited anxiously for awards. Bellas received Overall Grand Champion with best vocals and best visuals, beating the national title-holding “Muses.” One member of Bellas, Carsen Flowers, even received the best solo in a show for the treble division. Brio competed in the championship division, receiving Best Vocals, Best Visuals, and Overall Grand Champion against the nationally acclaimed Oak Mountain “Singers.” Brio also received the best solo in a show for the championship division, Case Farnham. Brandon Show Choirs as a whole had arguably the best competition weekend in the program’s history, with every single group in middle and high school receiving first in their division. Brio has been working very hard to receive the best possible placement at every competition this season; while that is not out of character for the program, this year, they had a different motivation. Brandon’s show choirs suffered the loss of a dear friend and member this year; while everyone in Brio and Bellas wishes that Griffin could have been there to celebrate the win with them, they have peace in knowing that he was celebrating and dancing with them along the entire journey that this season was.

Every year, Brandon Show Choir hosts a show after the competitive season as a final goodbye to the respective year’s seniors and competition show. The emotional and captivating performance is a culmination of all that the performers have left for their final performances. More than just a competitive show, it’s a heartfelt tribute to the seniors, featuring a “Rewind” of former shows of their choosing. This year’s finale, falling on May the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night), promises to be a memorable event. Tickets will be available on Brandonbrio.com and at the door on the nights of the finale. Given the event’s popularity, we definitely reserve tickets in advance to avoid missing out on your chance to see the shows.

Brio and Bellas have had extremely successful seasons despite many hardships along the way. We congratulate them for their accomplishments and wish them the best of luck as they prepare to look ahead to the many seasons ahead of them!
